The Redrock adapter works beautifully with my HVX P2 camera. It allows you to use fast 35mm to give you a shallow depth of field. Here is an example of footage shot with the Redrock and the HVX.

DV Tapestock, 1hr record time (if tape used is $15.00 ea.)

P2 Footage can be transfered off to my Panasonic P2 Store ($100.00 per day) for upload to your computer later. It reads and transfers the P2 footage faster than real time so the cards may be reused over and over. It has a 60gb HD and is run either by battery or AC power.

We can also use a firewire hard drive to download HD footage to. The drive does not have to be blank. It just needs enough space for the footage. I can either loan one to your project which can be returned to me when you are done uploading or you can bring one of your own if you would like. Periodically, I or my P2 camera assistant will need to spin the footage off to HD. This process is simiar to changing a film mag. Folders are created on the download drive and your footage is dropped in nicely organized.

A third option, if we need to be recording HD 1080 non stop for a long period of time, we can use a FireStore FS-100 Drive. The drive is an additional $150.00 rental per day, but will allow 1.5 hours of record time.

*the cool thing about doing the P2 (if you have not used it before) is that when you get to editorial you just drop it onto the timeline of your non-linear system and skip all log and capture / uploading. So, it's a process where you need to make some choices upfront (format, data transfer etc.), but it saves a lot of time later in post.

My Aaton has been busy shooting commercials for AIG, State Farm, Island Insurance, Queens Hospital, First Hawaiian Bank, etc.. We took the Aaton to Illinois to shoot 4 commercials for Swedish American Hospital for Shooters Film Production. The shoot went fantastic and stills can be found on my Behind Camera page.

Aaton cameras are excellent for shooting handheld, very comfortable and very quiet. Aaton cameras were just used recently for the filming of March Of The Penguins.
